A Rhyming Jackson

I would have to agree with Tedwards that Rhymefest's "Man In The Mirror" is a must have for 2008. Today I had the chance to listen to it for the first time while I've been stuck inside due to a snow storm. Who's idea was it to pair up the Chicago lyricist and the King of Pop himself...Michael Jackson? The London bloke Mark Ronsen, that's who!! We actually share the same birthday (September 4th). Shout out to all my virgos out there. Anyway...this tape is nothing but genius. Rhymefest is spittin' over dope beats that sample classic MJ records. Now I know that Michael Jackson has gotten KINDA weird in recent years. He has a new costume everytime he steps in public (Check out recent picture). He used to be the shit back in the day. Rhymefest is the first MC to dedicate an entire mixtape paying homage to such an iconic figure in popular music.

Coolie High [Feat. Camp-Lo] is my favorite track from the mixtape. It's a remake of Camp Lo's 1996 single "Coolie High." What's funny is that Camp-Lo originally sampled Janet Jackson's 1986 "Funny How Time Flies" and the 2008 uses MJ's 1982 "Lady In My Life" off his multi-grammy award winning "Thriller"
