Some of my Favorites

Jadakiss Vs. Fabolous Mixtape <-- Click Here

The fact I can still listen to this song is a testament to just how amazing it is. Lollipop was Genius, for a commercial rap song, it certainly did its job, it continued Weezy's recent climb to the top and he is as mainstream as wonder bread and GM. Congratulations Weezy I think it might be the song of year in my book for sheer marketing and listenability.

A Rhyming Jackson

I would have to agree with Tedwards that Rhymefest's "Man In The Mirror" is a must have for 2008. Today I had the chance to listen to it for the first time while I've been stuck inside due to a snow storm. Who's idea was it to pair up the Chicago lyricist and the King of Pop himself...Michael Jackson? The London bloke Mark Ronsen, that's who!! We actually share the same birthday (September 4th). Shout out to all my virgos out there. Anyway...this tape is nothing but genius. Rhymefest is spittin' over dope beats that sample classic MJ records. Now I know that Michael Jackson has gotten KINDA weird in recent years. He has a new costume everytime he steps in public (Check out recent picture). He used to be the shit back in the day. Rhymefest is the first MC to dedicate an entire mixtape paying homage to such an iconic figure in popular music.

Coolie High [Feat. Camp-Lo] is my favorite track from the mixtape. It's a remake of Camp Lo's 1996 single "Coolie High." What's funny is that Camp-Lo originally sampled Janet Jackson's 1986 "Funny How Time Flies" and the 2008 uses MJ's 1982 "Lady In My Life" off his multi-grammy award winning "Thriller"

SNOW DAY: Recession Proof

Sometimes when it's cold outside I just wanna fly south for the winter, and hit up the unique sounds from the South. The other night I had the opportunity to listen to Young Jeezy's Recession it was not "consistently thrilling" but it was consistently interesting. I'll still stick to Thug Motivation 101, for a solid Jeezy album though.

Kanye West & Big Sean - Paranoid Remix

This track is off the 10 Deep x DJ Benzi "The New Deal" mixtape. You can check that out at (Click Here). The original song paranoid is from Kanye's new album, Heartbreak & 808's. The entire album is done with an Auto-tuner synth machine recently made astromnomically famous by T-Pain, Snoop Dogg, Lil' Wayne, Chris Brown and of course B.o.B. The album needs to be taken in slowly by those who arn't already accustommed to takening in new kinds of music. Enjoy.

Shwayze

I have to give props where props are due, and today I came across the Shwayze. I listened to the back half of it track 6 - 12; None of those were the singles and they were pretty fly. It seems me and this guy have a lot in common. He seems to know the tracks I like, ones about smashing and smoking eds. I'd pay see em live if I weren't afraid his concert was gonna be overly commercial. Anyway here is a list the tracks I listened to in the session.
6. Hollywood
7. Polaroid
8. James Brown is Dead
9. Lost My Mind
10. Mary Jane
11. Flashlight (featuring Dave Navarro)
The people listen to DJ White Owl, Check it out.

KID CUDI

This song is sooo old but it's fire, and we're rereminding you about it. Cudi is self described as "not da most insightful rapper, im not ya Talib Kweli, ya Mos Def, ya Kanye, uhhh ya Common, or anyone like dat...i dont consider myself a genius, but i aint a dummy either...if u like my music its not gonna b bcuz of some witty line i said or me bein political, its gonna b bcuz u connect with me as a person n u relate 2 my story at the same puttin yaself n my SB Dunks u feel me?...dats it....(o and u mite jus love my hooks on Dot Da Genius beats lol) im not the president, so dont expect me to go there musically....im not dat person...but if u wanna hear suttin soooo awesomely dope, different, deep, passionate, fun, and abstract, then look no further fella ya found him lol...ima grinder jus like yall, so walk thru my grind wit me...i jus wanna make good shit at the same time give others hope....its bigger than me at the end of the day."
Seems fair and sort of revealing, I like all his stuff and wish him success. His track plays all night and day in Los Angeles, someones always got that Day 'n Night blasting. Let's see how it plays out everywhere else.
